Leo Varadkar defends hoteliers following Failte Ireland warning

The Tanaiste disagrees with Failte Ireland, claiming Irish hotels are not increasing their prices unreasonably.

It’s after the CEO of Failte Ireland said he plans to write to every hotel in the coming weeks, warning them of the reputational damage price-hikes have on Irish tourism.

Paul Kelly also warned tourists could be asked to pay higher rates this summer, as more hotel rooms are being used for State accommodation.

However, Tanaiste Leo Varadkar defended hoteliers and praised them for work in accommodating refugees.
