Locals In Youghal Object To Plans For New Cancer Support Centre
Last updated on
Locals in Youghal have objected to plans for a new Cancer Support Centre in the town.
The County Council granted permission for the demolition of the existing 2-story drop-in centre and the construction of a new 3-story building in its place.
The centre, on Friar Street, adjoins the old Horgan’s Cinema.
The Irish Examiner is reporting that locals fear demolishing the old Cancer Centre will destabilise the former cinema, which they claim is already making their homes and gardens unsafe.
They have appealed the Council’s decision to An Bord Plenála, and a decision is due by mid-December
