Lord Mayor of Cork City: Ed Sheeran Concert Will Be Huge Boost To Cork Economy And Cultural Life
The announcement today by singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran that he will play a concert in Páirc Úi Chaoimh will be a huge boost to Cork’s economy and cultural life.
That’s according to the Lord Mayor of Cork City, Cllr Colm Kelleher.
The singer will play at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on April 28th, before going to Thomond Park in Limerick a week later, and Belfast on May 12th.
Tickets for the Mathematics Stadium Tour go on sale on Saturday, 25th September.
Speaking to RedFM News, Lord Mayor Kelleher said that the concert will offer many benefits to Cork city and county:
“I think the last time around it was estimated to be worth €30 to €40 million to the local economy. And, you know, in particular the hospitality, that would be in and around the city will benefit from it. The retail, food and beverage trade around would benefit from it. And just a good sense of atmosphere around the city again, you know, and those lovely bright nights walking down to the park to a concert. I think everyone is going to be looking forward to that again.”
