They also met with the Corkonian Civil Society in Seoul, including business representatives.
The Lord Mayor lay a wreath at the Korean War memorial in commemoration of combatants from Cork who died in the Korean War.
Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor Deirdre Forde says she is delighted to be the first sitting Lord Mayor of Cork to visit Korea:
“Korea, like Ireland, is a very outward facing country, and Cork is a great place for international students, for example, to hone their skills and further their education. Exciting possibilities exist for future links”.
