Lorry drivers must prove they are Covid free before heading to France

Irish lorry drivers will have to prove they’re covid free before being allowed into France from today.

Drivers have to provide a negative antigen test 72 hours before embarking on their ferry journey.

There will be two sites for free tests in Dublin and Wexford.

Eugene Drennan from the Irish Road Haulage Association says it’s going to cause a lot of delays.

“We were promised three [sites] – we’ve only gotten around to having two.

“We knew this for a number of weeks now, so there should have been a better reaction as we’re getting caught at a lot of points.”
