Mallow General Hospital One Month Into Pilot Project To Treat Ambulance Patients In Its Medical Assessment Unit

Mallow General Hospital is almost one month into a pilot project to see if some ambulance patients could be treated in its Medical Assessment Unit.
If the pilot is successful it could mean people would be transferred to Mallow instead of Emergency Departments in the city.
Its hoped this would result in fewer people waiting in EDs, especially on trolleys
Mallow General Hospital is the first hospital in the country to take part in the pilot.
