Man charged with murder of Cork bishop in California

A man has been charged with the murder of an Irish Bishop in California.

69 year old David O’Connell, who was originally from Brooklodge in Glanmire, was found dead at his home last Saturday, the Auxiliary Bishop for the Catholic Archdiocese of LA had been shot in the torso.

His housekeepers husband, Carlos Medina, was arrested on Monday.

He’s been charged with one count of murder and is due in court later today.
