The man who killed John Lennon has told a parole board he knew the act was “evil” and “wrong”, but that he “wanted the fame too much”.

Mark Chapman shot The Beatles star in New York in 1980.

He says he “was willing to give everything and take a human life”.

He’s been denied parole for a 12th time.
