Man who was shot in Cork City discharged from hospital

A man who was shot in Cork City has been discharged from hospital.

He has also been interviewed by Gardaí.

The 42 year old man was shot as he was getting into his car at 5am on Friday the 12th of May.

The incident happened in Wilton Manor and the man received serious abdominal injuries in the attack.

The injured man managed to drive himself to Cork University Hospital and has been discharged 10 days after the incident.

He has also been interviewed by Gardaí according to the Irish Examiner and an incident room has been set up in Togher Garda station.

In a statement to RedFM News, Gardaí say they are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Wilton area of Cork City between 5am and 5.45am on Friday morning and who may have noticed anything unusual is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
