MCD boss hopeful Electric Picnic will go ahead

The head of MCD says he remains optimistic this year’s Electric Picnic will go ahead.
A record 70,000 people are due to attend the sold-out festival in Laois on the first weekend of September.
Denis Desmond says he’s hopeful the restrictions will be lifted in time.
But he says it will be September before the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin reopens, according to the Irish Times.
