Micheál Martin says Government are working on plans to increase school places

The Taoiseach says children with additional needs cannot continue being refused school places.

Micheál Martin says Cabinet Ministers are working on plans to ensure more places are available for the next academic year.

While he says they’ll also work on legislation around inclusivity in school settings.

The Taoiseach says scenarios where children are being refused places cannot continue:

“There’s an obligation on all of us in society to make sure that we have an open accessible education system, the state funds, the entire state system has to be a basic principle in our education system.
