Mickelson Faces More Questions on Saudi Arabia and 9/11

Phil Mickelson says he has “deep empathy” for families affected by the 9/11 terrorist attack – after he was criticised by a group representing them.

The six-time major winner and other players who joined LIV Golf have been accused of facilitating ‘sports washing’ by the Saudi regime – which backs it.

Mickelson has held a tense and often tetchy news conference ahead of the US Open.

He showed his frustration at being banned by the PGA Tour.
