More than half of Irish parents believe they take a more relaxed approach to raising children

That’s according to a new survey from mynametags.ie.
It found Irish parents are the most lenient in Europe, with Dutch parents the strictest.
Parent coach at Parent Support, Aoife Lee, says the way many people raise children depends on how they were raised themselves:
“Often how we parent, whether we are soft or disciplined, can often determine the boundaries and expectations that are set from one house to another, and that will all vary. And often how parents approach different family challenges and our parenting styles, is often determined by how they are parented themselves.”
