Music and Entertainment Association call for easing of indoor music restrictions
The Music and Entertainment Association of Ireland has said there’s no reason restrictions on indoor music shouldn’t be eased.
It comes as a member of NPHET, Dr Mary Favier, warned if there continues to be high numbers of new Covid cases more restrictions won’t be lifted in September.
Tomorrow the live events sector will meet with Minister Catherine Martin to discuss when they might get back to work.
Matt McGranaghan from the Music and Entertainment Association of Ireland says some return should happen next month.
“I don’t see any reason why certain events, there shouldn’t be some easing of restrictions at indoor venues and theatres.
“I don’t see why there couldn’t be a certain easing of restrictions for the provision of live entertainment indoors in a licensed premises.”
