Nearly 2,000 Ukrainian refugees have found a job in Ireland.
It represents around one in nine of those of working age who’ve arrived here.
Most are working in pubs, restaurants and hotels, according to the Business Post.
Senator Timmy Dooley says it’s very positive:
“There is a very significant demand for work in this country, we had seen as a result in the of the pandemic that, particularly the hospitality sector had lost a lot of its employees, some had returned to eastern parts of Europe, and some haven’t returned so you know those employers were in crisis. There’s no doubt with the considerable number of Ukrainians coming. Many of them want to work.”
