Nine areas in Cork are reporting higher than average rates of Covid 19

In the two weeks to April 11th, the Cork City North east local electoral area had the highest 14 day incidence rate in the county with just under 1,300 cases per 100,000 of the population, compared to the national average of 967.8

Other areas above the national average are Bandon-Kinsale, Carrigaline, Mallow, Cork City South East, Cork City North West, Cork City South Central, Skibbereen-West Cork, and Cork City South Central.

Meanwhile more than 600 Covid 19 deaths have been reported in Cork since the pandemic began.

In total 603 deaths have been reported, with two of those in the 14 day period to April 18th.

6,964 deaths have been recorded nationally since 2020.
