Nurses Union Appeals Fox Extra Help From Private Hospitals To ease Overcrowding In Public Hospitals

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation revealed their appeal through the HSE as they described the overcrowding in some hospitals as “out of control”

Cork University Hospital is regularly the second most overcrowded hospital in the country and the latest trolley watch figures show that 51 people are being treated on trolleys in the hospital

The union says this is not best practice normally and particularly not in the middle of a global pandemic

The INMO is to write to the Health Minister so a plan can be devised to alleviate the issues of staff shortages, overcrowding and lack of bed capacity

Speaking to RedFM News Liam Conway of the INMO in Cork says additional beds need to be prioritised ahead of the winter
