Osaka crashes out of Olympics

There will be no gold medal for one of the faces of the Tokyo Olympics after Naomi Osaka crashed out of the tennis.

The Japanese star who lit the flame during the opening ceremony was beaten by Marketa Vondrousova in the third round of the women’s singles.

She lost in straight sets.

Andy Murray has kept his hopes of winning a fourth Olympic medal alive.

He’s through to the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles tennis alongside debutant Joe Salisbury in Tokyo.

The pair eased past German partners Tim Puetz and Kevin Krawietz in straight sets.
