Over 1,000 young people and youth workers are expected to attend this years Creative Tech Fest in Meath today.
The event in Drumree, now in it’s tenth year, includes Robot Wars, a live concert and Lab spaces to boost interest and opportunities in STEM careers.
Marianne Checkley, CEO of Kinia says the event is proof that tech is a creative space no matter what form it takes:
“So they design and build their own robot, and the big event then takes place where there’s a series of knockout stages. So it’s more Robot Olympics than Robot Wars. They go through a series of obstacle courses and various challenges to knock each other out. Tech isn’t just about computer science or coding, and even in that there’s a creative aspect to it”.
