Over 43,000 passengers set to go through Cork Airport this weekend

Over 43,000 passengers are expected to travel through Cork Airport over the St Patrick’s Day weekend.

Passengers are being advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight.

Twelve traditional Irish music groups will be performing in the arrivals hall over the coming days.

The boost in passenger numbers comes just ten days away from the start of the busy summer schedule that will see nine airlines operating 45 routes from Cork.

Speaking to RedFM News, Barry Holland from Cork Airport outlines the busiest routes this weekend.

“It’ll be particularly busy coming from the UK, but also from continental Europe, places like Paris, Amsterdam, Italy, Spain, they’ll all be very busy.

“St Patrick’s Day internationally is a well recognised festival, it’s a great celebration of Irish culture.

“It’s appealing for international visitors to come to Ireland and fly into Cork Airport.”
