Passenger Confidence Key For Recovery Of Aviation Industry
That’s according to Kevin Cullinane from Cork Airport who says it could be up to three years before passengers numbers at the airport recover to pre-pandemic levels.
Around 200,000 passengers are expected to travel through the terminal this year, down from around half a million last year.
The airport was the fastest growing in the country and was expecting to host 2.8 million passengers last year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Kevin Cullinane from Cork Airport outlines the forecast for next year:
“A lot depends now on the accelerated rollout of the vaccine, and how confident people are to travel internationally again. So we’re planning and forecasting, at this stage, we’ll be up at about 1.5 million passengers next year, which is about half where we would have been had we not experienced a global pandemic in our industry.”
