People Before People believes people are absolutely right to want the USC be abolished.
A Business Post/Red C poll shows seven out of every 10 voters want the Universal Social Charge scrapped.
It’s being put down to the cost of living crisis, as households are feeling the pinch over rising prices.
TD Richard Boyd Barrett thinks the USC should be replaced with a tax on the wealthy:
“It was supposed to be an emergency austerity tax introduced after the financial crash. So there’s absolutely no justification for continuing this huge burden on people, who are being crushed by the cost of living crisis at the moment, and it could be paid for by introducing higher tax on the very, very highest earners”.
