Peter Casey cleared to play in All Ireland Final
Peter Casey has been cleared to play in the All Ireland Hurling Championship Final.
The Limerick forward was sent off with ten minutes to go in their semi final with Waterford after an altercation with the Deise’s Austin Gleeson.
However the two match ban was rescinded at a Central Hearings Committee meeting yesterday, in which video evidence was used.
Limerick argued successfully the video evidence wasn’t conclusive that Casey had head butted Gleeson – referee John Keenan sent him off after consulting with his umpires.
It means that the corner forward is now free to play against Cork in Croke Park on August 22nd.
Meanwhile both Cork minor sides will be keeping an eye on games this evening.
The Ulster minor football final takes place in Brewster Park.
Tyrone face Donegal at 7.30 with the winners facing the Rebels.
Galway and Kilkenny meanwhile go head to head in the All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship Semi Final with the winners facing Cork in the Final.
That’s at Semple Stadium at 7.30.
