President Michael D. Higgins Has Paid Tribute To Jack Charlton
The former Republic of Ireland football manager has died aged 85
The President has paid tribute to his ‘legacy of outstanding leadership’ which captured the imagination of the nation.
The Taoiseach has described him as ‘one of the great characters of the football world, an iconic figure on and off the pitch.’
Meanwhile the Football Association of Ireland says Jack was “the manager who changed Irish football forever”.
