Plans for a 30% tax bracket for middle income earners, look to be in doubt.

It's after the Public Expenditure Minister Michael McGrath played-down the likelihood of it's introduction in next month's Budget.

If adopted, it would see lead to savings of up to €1,000 a year, for one million workers in the country.

According to the Examiner, interventions that are more likely to be seen in the budget, include a double-payment of the children's allowance and a repeat of the €200 energy bill.
