Revolut co-founder donates €1.1 million to Late Late Toy Show Appeal

Vlad Yatsenko, the co-founder of finance app Revolut, has donated €1.1 million to the Late Late Toy Show Appeal.

Revolut had included a section on their app for users to donate to the appeal on Friday night during the show, however technical difficulties meant there were issues getting money through to the fundraiser via the app. Following on from the technical problems, Vlad donated €100,000 on the night and pledged he would add a further donation to match the funds raised over the weekend through Revolut.

The Revolut co-founder’s generous donation now brings the total amount raised to over €6.5 million.

The annual Toy Show took place on Friday night with Disney’s Lion King being the central theme throughout the show. There were many young characters and heartwarming stories featured and some surprises from Olympic gold medallist Kellie Harrington and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Last year’s Toy Show Appeal raised €6.6 million and the money donated was used to help over 600,000 children and family member across Ireland during the past year.
