RNLI In Cork Appealing For Bathers To Visit 1 Of 12 Life-Guarded Beaches Along Cork’s Beautiful Coastline

The RNLI in Cork is appealing to those heading to the water over the coming days, to go to one of the 12 life-guarded beaches along Cork’s beautiful coastline.

Thousands across the county are expected to head to the seaside as the mercury continues to rise.

Cork County Council and Water Safety Ireland are reminding bathers that lifeguards are on duty between half past ten in the morning and seven o’clock in the evening every day until the end of August.

Speaking to RedFM News, the RNLI’s Water Safety Delivery Support Officer, Lisa Hollingham has these tips for those looking to cool off at the beach:

“What we’d advise people to do is, obviously with the warmer weather they’re probably be drawn to the beaches and drawn to the water to go for a swim, so if they’re going to beach, please go to a lifeguarded beach. And while you’re there, if you’re going in the water, please go between the red and yellow flags where there are lifeguards on duty, and it’s safer to swim”.
