Ryanair boss criticises Transport Minsiter

The Transport Minister has ‘no priorities in transport’, according to the Ryanair boss.

Michael O’Leary has criticised Eamon Ryan, saying Ireland’s aviation policy hasn’t been updated since 2019.

He also claims Ireland is in a ‘precarious position’ as an island while other nations propose EU-wide environmental taxes.

Mr O’Leary says there needs to be fairer policies for the Iike of Ireland, Portugal and Greece.

“Eempting the long haul passengers who create more than 50% of European Aviation co2 emissions while only delivering 6% of the traffic, and exempting the transfer of flights across Schiphol, Paris and Frankfurt is fundamentally unfair.

“And we are very disappointed that our Transport Minister has done nothing in this area for the last two years while he’s been running around, opening up bicycle lanes.”
