The Sexual Violence Centre Cork helped 341 new clients in 2020 .
The annual report from the centre has revealed that 87 % of perpetrators of sexual assault last year were known to their victims, up from 70 % in 2019.
29 % of all sexual assaults took place in the victims own home and 23 % in the perpetrators.
The Centre provided 1659 appointment in 2020 which were mainly online due to Covid and answered over 2300 calls and texts.
