Simon Communities of Ireland urging anyone being evicted to get in touch

The Simon Communities of Ireland is urging anyone being evicted from their home to get in touch as soon as possible.

It says it has heard of people seeking stress-related medication following the Government’s decision to end the eviction ban.

Over eleven-and-a-half thousand people are homeless, with fears the number could rise further when the ban ends on March 31st.

Wayne Stanley – Executive Director of Simon Communities – says the organisation is on hand to support anyone affected over the coming weeks:

“Soon as the notice comes in. If you’re feeling any way vulnerable to contact your local authority, do contact your local Simon Community, they might not be able to do something immediately, but the more time you allow yourself, and the more support you get during that time, the more likely it will be that we can avoid homelessness.”
