Sinn Féin Almost Twice As Popular With Voters As Fianna Fail And Fine Gael Combined
Sinn Féin is almost twice as popular with the electorate as Fianna Fail and Fine Gael combined.
A Red C Poll in today’s Business Post puts the party at 34 per cent with Fine Gael on 20 per cent followed by Fianna Fail on 15 points.
The Social Democrats are on six per cent; Labour and the Greens are both on four per cent with People Before Profit on three per cent followed by Aontu on one per cent,
Michael Brennan of the Business Post says Sinn Fein appear to be enjoying a boost arising from their performance in the local elections in the North:
“This a very good poll for Sinn Féin. They’re up by three points to 34%. Their best results in quite some time. And they’ve been boosted by their performance in the local elections in Northern Ireland. They’re now the largest party there for the first time, and that positive publicity certainly seems to have helped them in this poll”.
