Squid Game season 2 confirmed
The creator of Squid Game has confirmed the show will return for a second season.
The Korean dystopian drama proved to be a huge hit with audiences on Netflix with 111 million viewers worldwide in just it’s first 17 days after release.
The show sees a group of people who are in financial difficulties risk their lives through a series of games until there is one person standing to win a large jackpot prize.
Writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk told the Associated Press, “There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So, I almost feel like you leave us no choice!” he said.
“But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen.”
Fans of the show will be pleased to hear the main protagonist Gi-hun played by Lee Jung-jae will be returning foe the second instalment of the show.
The show creator recently revealed the stress of working on the show caused him to lose six teeth, “It was physically, mentally and emotionally draining. I kept having new ideas and revising the episodes as we were filming so the amount of work multiplied.”
