Study shows Irish people in denial about drinking habits

Irish people are in denial about dangerous drinking habits.

That’s according to a new study from the Health Research Board, which says 67% of risky drinkers class themselves as light or moderate instead.

It defines harmful alcohol intake as consuming about six or more standard drinks in one sitting.

Chair of the communications clinic, Terry Prone, who has worked on alcohol information campaigns, says the quotes in the report are ‘ludicrous.’
