Sudan: Doctors Say At Least 56 People Killed And Around 600 Injured In Power Struggle

Doctors in Sudan say at least 56 people have been killed and around 600 injured in a power struggle.

Gunfire and explosions have been witnessed in the capital – as violence caps weeks of tension between the army and a strong paramilitary force.

The country’s supposed to be transitioning towards democracy.

Issraa Elkogali Häggström is a film-maker whose family’s in Khartoum:

“They’ve described shelling of tanks, planes circling overhead, and what felt to be like large bombs so the houses were vibrating”.
