Taoiseach Releases White-Tailed Eagle Chicks Into Wild

The Taoiseach has released white-tailed eagle chicks into the wild.

Micheál Martin was in Tarbert in Co Kerry, as part of a long-term project to restore, the native and once extinct bird, to Irish skies.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service, says sixteen young eagles will be released at three sites across Munster, including Killarney National Park, Lough Derg and the lower Shannon estuary.

31 young eagles from Norway have been released already in Ireland over the last two years.
