Taoiseach says a full roadmap for the next phase of reopening society will be provided at the end of August

 

His comments come after the Arts Minister Catherine Martin expressed frustration to representatives of the Entertainment industry that her plan for reopening live events on August 6th hadn’t been accepted

Taoiseach Micheál Martin says Cabinet will provide a plan for all sectors on the 31st of August butr warned that there is still a journey to go with the peak of the current wave of infections not expected until mid or late September

The artistic director at the Everyman Theatre in the city Sophie Motley has warned that the sector will die unless a roadmap for reopening is urgently agreed

The Everyman is a 650 seater theatre and is 94% dependent on box offices sales. At the moment only 50 people are allowed inside the theatre however management say they could safely accommodate 170 people across the entire building

The Everyman’s Sophie Motley told RedFM News that the sector needs to be allowed to re-open so they can survive
