Tax break may be on the cards for middle income earners

A tax break may be on the cards for middle income earners in the Budget this October.
Fine Gael is said to be pushing the proposal before Coalition talks begin.
In today’s Irish Independent, three junior ministers called on tax relief to go further than the previous two Budgets.
One of those Junior Ministers, Peter Burke, says there’s increased capacity to invest more in tax relief:
“Number one, we ensure families get a significant tax rebate in the tax bands. And secondly, it is very important that public services are improved like child care are made more affordable and housing for all citizens right across the economy.”
