Tax Strategy Group Advises Government Not To Extend Hospitality Sector’s 9% VAT Rate

The Tax Strategy Group has advised the government not to extend the 9 percent VAT rate for the hospitality sector.

The reduced rate is set to run until the end of February next year and was introduced to help the tourism industry recover following the pandemic.

As part of their papers today, the group says the policy should not be extended beyond March and that the 13.5 percent rate should return.
