A man, who’s understood to have shouted “Allahu Akbar”, has been arrested for the suspected terrorist attack.
Several others have also been injured.
Elsewhere in France, police have shot dead a knifeman in a separate incident in city of Avignon.
The French National Assembly in Paris held a minute’s silence for the victims, while the bells of the Notre Dame church in Nice rang out:
