The City’s Flood Assessment team will meet this afternoon to review the latest modelling ahead of the arrival of Storm Eunice.
The storm is predicted to bring severe winds to Cork from 5am tomorrow.
Cork City and County Councils are monitoring the situation today ahead of Storm Eunice making landfall tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange Warning for Cork and 6 other counties from 5am until 11am Friday.
The forecaster has warned of strong winds gusting to 130 km/h at times and say it expects the storm to cause widespread disruption.
People are being urged to secure any loose items on their property and motorists are advised to use extreme caution on the road tomorrow.
Some pooling of water is expected on low lying areas of the city, however significant flooding is not expected at this stage.
The city’s Flood Assessment team are due to meet at 2pm today and will issue further guidance in the afternoon.
