- A man in his fifties has died following a swimming tragedy in Skibbereen. The man was swimming in Lough Hyne when he got into difficulty yesterday afternoon.
- The Children's Minister is to bring forward legislation to ensure Ukrainian refugees qualify for childcare payments. Around one quarter of the 28 thousand people who have fled the war here are under the age of 13.
- Around 100 civilians have been evacuated from tunnels under the Ukrainian city of Mariupol with more expected to come out later.
- People's pockets are going to be hit as the latest carbon tax increases came into effect yesterday. Oil, gas, coal, briquettes and electricity are all increasing in price.
