A motorcyclist was rushed to Cork University Hospital in serious condition following a road accident in North Cork.

The incident occurred at Nohoval Upper in Knocknagree at approximately half past six yesterday evening.

The driver of the motorbike is a man in his 20s.

No other injuries were reported in the single vehicle incident.

The R582 is closed between Rathmore and Knocknagree to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.

A man's due in court in Skibbereen later this morning, after a 35 thousand euro drugs seizure in the city.

The discovery was made at Kent Station on Friday.
