The missing person appeal for 26 year-old Christopher Dunne from Garrettstown has been stood down, after a body was discovered in Kinsale last evening.

The Government is refusing to remove the higher charges for those who choose to renew their motor tax on a quarterly or half-yearly basis rather than annually.

Garda memorial day will be marked at Dublin Castle this afternoon in memory of members of the force who were killed in the line of duty.

Its the first time in two years the event will be public and takes place during the Centenary Year of An Garda Síochána

More than 50 veterans of the Irish Defence forces are being housed in accommodation provided by the O.N.E. charity.

The charity has also helped more that a thousand veterans through its support services.
