There has been an increase in the number of holidays being booked in the last few days, according to the Irish Travel Agents Association
The group believes the positive indicators this week have led to agents seeing an increase in business.
However, anyone wishing to go on holiday is being warned of potential price hikes for flights especially in the summer season.
CEO of the ITAA and Cork travel agent Pat Dawson, says overall the mood is positive among businesses and consumers:
“One agent was telling me they had a booking where a granddad had booked 22 or 23 of her family to take them all to Disney Land sometime in May or June. That wouldn’t have been gone on less, you know, things are looking up and people are positive. So it was a good shock to the system that we got.”
