Tributes paid to Liam Kearns
Tributes are being paid to Offaly football manager Liam Kearns, who passed away suddenly last night.
The Kerry native took charge of the Faithful county last year, having previously managed Limerick, Laois and Tipperary.
As a player, Kearns played for his home county at underage and senior level, winning an All-Ireland minor title in 1980.
In a statement, Offaly GAA said they were ‘devastated’ to learn of Kearns’ passing, and extended their sympathies to his family.

Very sad news tonight with the sudden passing of Offaly manager Liam Kearns.
In 2016, he brought Tipperary to a first All-Ireland SFC semi-final since 1935, and also brought Laois and Limerick to provincial finals.
Thoughts with his family and friends. RIP. pic.twitter.com/7w8KFQjxlc

I’ll never forget the pride and emotion in Croke Park when we beat Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-final. I took this photograph just after we beat Cavan in 2017. You can see the joy he got from that win. Thanks for the memories #LiamKearns pic.twitter.com/glKIOmXVUL
