UK: England And Wales Release Census Data About Sexual Orientation For First Time

For the first time, census data’s been released about people’s sexual orientation in England and Wales.

3.2% – or around 1.5 million people – identify as either gay, lesbian, bisexual or another category.

And 262,000 people have a different gender identity to the sex registered on their birth certificate.
