UK: Rishi Sunak Announces Candidacy For Tory Leadership

In the UK, Rishi Sunak has announced he’s standing – for the Tory leadership race.

In his statement he says he wants to “fix” the UK economy.

As yet – Boris Johnson has not officially declared he’s running.

Northern Ireland Minister Steve Baker says if he did – his premiership would be ‘a nailed on failure’:

“There’s a lot of love out there for Boris Johnson and I respect that. I mean, I’ve been a big fan of Boris Johnson so many times, but this isn’t the time for Boris’ style. I mean, I’m afraid the trouble is because of the Privileges Vote, Boris would be a guaranteed disaster”.
