UK: Westminster Hall floor worn away following queue to pay respects to Queen Elizabeth II
Last updated on
The tens of thousands of people passing through Westminster Hall to pay their respects to Britain’s Queen appears to have worn away some of the floor.
Officials say some areas of bare stone have been exposed after constant footfall during the Queen’s lying-in-state.
At some points, carpet was put down to try to reduce the impact.
There’s no structural risk, though.
