Volunteers To Dig In In Leap Today And Tomorrow As Part Of Green Skibbereen’s ‘Atlantic Rainforest Restoration Project’
Last updated on
Volunteers will be digging in in Leap today and tomorrow – as part of Green Skibbereen’s ‘Atlantic Rainforest Restoration Project’.
The ‘Friends of Myross Wood’ Volunteers are hosting a Meitheal Weekend to clear an acre of ground – so they can plant a new Oak wood.
It’s part of an ongoing project to restore the ‘Atlantic Rainforest’, remove all non-native species, carry out replacement planting, create public access walks, and educate the public on the benefits of a rainforest in West Cork.
The project has been part-funded by the Department for Agriculture’s Woodland Development Fund.
