Warning That Private Covid-19 Tests Do Not Give People Permission To Ignore Social Distancing
Hundreds have been getting them done every day at a drive-through clinics this week.
The Tropical Medical Bureau director, Dr Graham Fry, says people are looking for reassurance.
But he says all tests have to come with a health warning:
“The swab is purely looking for the scenario at this point in time, it’s not looking for it yesterday or the day after. It’s literally now at this stage where there is- if there is infection there and it shows, then obviously you need to take care. If there isn’t any infection there, then you may pick it up soon afterwards so you still have to be careful.”
